Description
Correspondence of the Chisholm family concerning Scottish immigrants who settled in western Maryland. Letters formerly belonged to Elizabeth Jane Chisholm Williams (1869-1942), daughter of Alexander Chisholm (1844-?).
History
Letters formerly belonging to Elizabeth Jane Chisholm Williams (1869 - 1942), Daughter of Alexander Chisholm (1844-?) I believe the following to be correct and true: Alexander Chisholm Jr (2/2/1816-12/12/1891) married Mary Ann Williams on 5/26/1840. They had three children; 1. Daniel Chisholm (1841-1914) 2. Alexander Chisholm III (1844- ? ) married Elizabeth Jane Dutton - They had four children: 1. Nora , 2. Helen, 3. Charles, 4. Catharine. The third child of Alexander Jr and Mary Ann Williams was Elizabeth Jane Chisholm (1857-?) who never married. See "THE CHISHOLMS'' by James Archibald Nydegger, A.M., M.D., Sc.D., the forward is dated 3/22/1922.
