The Merrick Collection was put together by Marion and Mame Warren for their book and subsequent exhibit Maryland Time Exposures 1840-1940. The collection consists of approximately 1800 copy photographs made by Mr. Warren from original photographs dating between 1840 and 1940. The photographs illustrate a cross section of life and culture throughout the State of Maryland during those years, including industry, watermen, transportation, education, resorts, family life, sports, and agriculture. All the counties in Maryland are represented, to a greater or lesser degree, with subjects that such as cities and towns; businesses and shops; as well as politics and parades.
