Description
Research notes, for book Providence, Howard and Moss families. See also MSA SC 5379. Moss Family Papers. This collection includes documents concerning the history of the Moss family as well as lithographs from the Civil War era, and several denominations of currency from the Colonial and Civil War eras.

NOTE: The Library books donated by James E. Moss, are catalogued separately in MSA Library as the "Moss Collection."
History
This collection is divided into 11 series. The first ten series are divided into separate folders with numbers which correspond to the Index to the Moss Papers that was compiled by James E. Moss in 1973. The eleventh series (Moss Collection books) was moved to the MSA Library. Series 11 later relabeled as "Genealogy."
