Description
Johns Methodist Episcopal Church, Dorchester County, Ellwood: church register. Includes minutes of the trustees and record fundraising and construction of the first church, camp meetings, purchase of Johns Methodist Episcopa Cemetery ca. 1910 and other church business. Church was founded by members of the African American community of Ellwood in the home of John H. Johns. It merged with Mt. Pleasant Church and Zoar Church to form Mt. Calvary Church, Preston, Caroline County in 1968.
