The Republican Citizen began publication in 1836 and ceased in 1890. It was published weekly. Title history based on April 22, 1836 [v. 15, no. 1]. Publication was suspended 1864-1865. The newspaper continues the Frederick Citizen (Frederick: 1834) and was continued by the Frederick Citizen (Frederick: 1890).
