History
(Cumberland, Allegany County: Times and Alleganian Co.)

The Cumberland News began publication October 11, 1938 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased April 20, 1988 [v. 50, no. 164]. It was published daily, March 6, 1983-1988; daily, except Sunday, 1938-February 28, 1983. It was published on Sundays with the Cumberland Evening Times [March 1987]-January 1988 and called the Cumberland Sunday Times. The newspaper continues the Cumberland Daily News (Cumberland: 1928), absorbed the Cumberland Evening Times (Cumberland: 1916), and was continued by the Cumberland Times-News (Cumberland: 1988).

Archives' collection includes issue for July 15, 1982.
