The Federal Republican and Baltimore Telegraph began publication April 1, 1816 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased November 26, 1834[?]. It was published daily, except Sunday. Other editions include the Federal Republican and Baltimore Telegraph (Baltimore: semiweekly). The newspaper was formed by the union of the Baltimore Telegraph and Mercantile Advertiser (Baltimore: 1814) and the Federal Republican (Georgetown, D.C.: daily).

Archives' collection includes issues for June 24, 1817, July 11, 1817, and June 19, 1818.
