History
(Easton, Talbot County: James Cowan)

The Herald and Eastern Shore Intelligencer began publication in 1799 and ceased November 13, 1804 [v. 15, no. 748]. It was published weekly. Title history based on November 5, 1799 [v. 10, no. 490]. It was also published as the Easton Shore Intelligencer. "Herald and" appears within title ornament. The newspaper continues the Maryland Herald, and Eastern Shore Intelligencer (Easton: 1790).

Archives' collection includes original issues for May 17, 1803 (MSA SC 1925-1-57), May 24, 1803 (MSA SC 1925-1-58), May 31, 1803 (MSA SC 1925-1-59), and May 22, 1804 (MSA SC 2085-52-8).
