History
(Baltimore: Bull) The Whig began publication May 14, 1838[?] and ceased September 8, 1838 [v. 1, no. 101]. It was published daily. Title history based on May 18, 1838. The newspaper was continued by the Baltimore Daily Whig (Baltimore: 1838). Archives' collection includes issues for June 22, 1838 [v. 1, no. 35] (MSA SC 453-198), June 30, 1838 (MSA SC 473-236), July 7, 1838 (MSA SC 473-237), August 20, 1838 [v. 1, no. 84] (MSA SC 453-198), and September 7 1838 (MSA SC 1925-1-9).
