History
The Severn Circuit was erected from Calvert Circuit about 1807. Extant records cover the period 1842-1858 and include congregations of Savage Factory, Laurel Factory, Twinbridge, Cross Roads, Magothy, Pumphrey's, Sulpher Springs, Fork, and Davidsonville.

In 1858 the large Severn Circuit was divided and the new South River Circuit carved from it. Mount Tabor and Davidsonville became part of South River along with Hope Carmel, the latter originally being part of West River.
