History
In 1856 the Montgomery Circuit was formed from congregations at Clarksburg, Sugar Loaf Mountain Chapel, Mount Lebanon, Darnestown, Poolesville,Barnesville, Hyattstown, Bennett's Creek, Pleasant Plains, and Cedar Grove.

According to information supplied by the Bethesda Church in Browningsville (1970), Cedar Grove later became Salem and Mount Lebanon ecame Damascus. Some of these churches, such as Bennett's Creek, are now defunct. Some constitute separate charges of their own and others have united with other circuits.

These records, now filmed are part of the Bethesda-Hyattstown Charge. That charge has two churches: Bethesda near Browningsville and the the Hyattstown Church.
