Description
Photographs and architectural plans, United States Appraisers' Stores Building, 103 South Gay Street, Baltimore, 7th and 8th floors. The United States Appraisers' Stores of the U.S. Customs Building was designed by the Baltimore architectural firm of Taylor & Fisher with William F. Stone. It is a federal building constructed adjacent to the original port of Baltimore for the purpose of monitoring, inspecting, and appraising imported merchandise. The building was used primarily by the U.S. Customs Service until 1982. It has subsequently been used by various federal agencies.
