The Carroll County Times began publication July 5, 1956 [v. 45, no. 27]. It was published daily, beginning 1980; weekly, 1956-1968; semiweekly, 1968-1977; triweekly, 1977-1980. Title history based on December 28, 1854 [v. 1, no. 7]. It was published as the Carroll County Times and Union Bridge Pilot, April 30, 1974-April 9, 1975. It has a separately numbered supplement entitled: Neighborhoods of Carroll, beginning March 28, 1990. The newspaper continues the Times (Westminster: 1911) and absorbed the Pilot (Union Bridge: 1913) and the Democratic Advocate (Westminster: 1865).
