History
(Snow Hill, Worcester County: G. W. Purnell Smith) The Worcester Shield, and Spirit of the Whig Press began publication in 1846 and ceased in 1847. It was published weekly. Title history based on October 6, 1846 [v. 1, no. 6]. The newspaper continues the Worcester County Shield, and Farmers' Manual (Snow Hill: 1846) and was continued by the Worcester County Shield, and Spirit of the Whig Press (Snow Hill: 1847).
