The National Intelligencer began publication Oct. 31, 1800 [Vol. 1, no. 1] and ceased Nov. 24, 1810 [v. 11, no. 1579]. It was published triweekly. Other editions include the Universal Gazette (Philadelphia: 1797). The newspaper precedes the National Intelligencer.
