Description
Novitiate Academy papers, MS. 31: deeds, Novitiate property in Frederick, 1836-1876; lease and plat, 1898; abstract of title, 1903; promissory notes, 1852-1902. The Jesuit Novitiate moved from White Marsh to Frederick in 1833 and remained until 1903. The Novitiate Academy building was erected on Second Street, opposite St. John's Church in 1876 and sold in 1903.

Originals are owned by the Historical Society of Frederick County, Inc.
