History
(Cumberland, Allegany County: Aza Beall) The Cumberland Telegraph and Maryland Mining Register began publication June 7, 1855 [v. 4, no. 7] and ceased March 10, 1859 [v. 7, no. 47]. It was published weekly. The newspaper continued the Cumberland Telegraph (Cumberland: 1852) and merged with the Cumberland Miners' Journal (Cumberland:1851) to form the Civilian & Telegraph (Cumberland: 1859).
