The Hornet, or, Republican Advocate began publication in 1809 and ceased in 1813. It was published weekly. Title history based on August 9, 1809 [v. 1, no. 28]. It was also published as the Republican Advocate. The newspaper continues the Hornet (Frederick: 1809) and continued by the Hornet (Frederick: 1813).
