History
James Creager was a laborer, repairman, furniture craftsman, mortician and funeral home owner. The earliest ledger carries an inscription that reads "Mecanics Town/September 10 1832/James Creeger/Day Book." His early books detail daily work, those he worked for and those he hired to help him. Other ledgers contain a combination of his business dealings and funerals. Later ledgers are those of funeral home records. Later ledgers and files are those of Charles William Miller, the successor owner of the Creager Funeral Home. Mr. Miller sold the business in 1980.
