Description
Bible records, Lockstampfor (Lochstampfer) and Hax families. Images available online. See also Gill Family Homepage.
History
Collection images are from the Lockstampfor/Hax Family Bible which was presented to the Bethel Meeting House on July 30, 1799 by Francis Shallus. The bible contains genealogical data, probably posted by Elizabeth Hax (nee Lockstampfor), on the Lockstampfor (Lochstampfer) and Hax families. Both families immigrated from Germany. Other family names mentioned in the bible include Batzindeffer and Blankenheim.

The original bible is very large and deteriorating. These images were created by the collection donor in order to preserve the genealogical information. The collection donor is a descendant of Anna Gill (nee Lockstampfor) who was the sister of Elizabeth Hax (nee Lockstampfor). Their parents are buried at Black Rock Cemetery on Falls Road in Baltimore County, Maryland.
