Description
Gavel, Senate's Past Liberty Tree Gavel. The Liberty Tree Gavel was crafted by John Cook, son of Senator Barbara Raley, from wood taken from the Liberty Tree at St. John's College at the time of the tree's removal. Mr. Cook was a student of Maryland artist Peter Egli and is well known as a craftsman of 18th century reproduction furniture. In addition to the gavel, the collection includes a green bag embroidered with the State Seal.
