Materials from the personal papers of Governor J. Millard Tawes. Materials include photographs of the Appalachian bill signing; John F. Kennedy's visit to the State House to file as a candidate for president in the Maryland primary, May 13, 1960; visit of President Dwight Eisenhower and Governor Tawes to Antietam Cemetery for presentation of Freedom Medal; videotapes, "Gov. J. Millard Tawes -- Inauguration"; materials relating to the Democratic "Victory" Dinner at the Pikesville Armory attended by President Truman, September 19, 1958; and transcript of interview of Governor Tawes for the John F. Kennedy Library.
