Description
General docket of Kent County court appearances kept by attorney William Tilghman (1756-1827) from 1788 to 1794. Tilghman, brother of Tench Tilghman, served in both the Maryland House of Delegates and Senate before moving to Philadelphia. He served subsequently as the Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court (1805 to 1827).

Two other volumes originally part of this collection, the Talbot County Levy Lists, were transferred to State and Local Records in October 2006. Three volumes/ledgers from the estate of Col. Oswald Tilghman, who lived in Easton and served as Maryland's Secretary of State (1904).
