Description
A short account by the captain of the Union bark Henrietta of its seizure and burning by the CSS Florida 34 days out of Baltimore on the way to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
History
This collection was transferred from the George Archives in April 2007 and was originally known at that institution as The Caleb P. Spicer Civil War Narrative, 1863 (a Caleb P. Spicer is on the 1880 census in Harford Co, MD, and served in the 12th Regt MD Infantry for 100 days in 1864).
