Images in the collection include muster rolls, letters, etc. acquired by Adam Goodheart, Director of the Starr Center, Washington College, and loaned to the Maryland State Archives for imaging and posting in Special Collections. A Maryland Manor, novel by Frederic Emory (1901), and relating to the Poplar Grove Plantation is also housed in Series 2. For more information on Poplar Grove see MSA SC 5807

Series 3 contains original documents from the 19th century documenting land transfers in Baltimore and Harford County. It also contains an unpublished memoir by William Hemsley Emory
