Edward Whaley Seabrook Hull's collection of papers and photographs relating to the Governor's Conference on the Chesapeake Bay that took place at the Aspen Institute/Wye Woods facility on September 12-13, 1968. Includes a letter to Seabrook Hull from Governor Spiro Agnew regarding the conference, a program for the event, and photographs of attendees. Hull served as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee and member of the Steering Committee at this 1968 conference. Edward Whaley Seabrook Hull wrote mainly under the name "Seabrook Hull." His career as a reporter, writer, and editor spanned the years between 1947 to 1976. Mr. Hull had a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Rhode Island (1970) and a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina (1987). From 1970-1971 he was a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. He was editor and part-owner of Ocean Science News, a weekly newsletter published in Washington, D.C. from 1961-1973. In addition to his interests in science, Seabrook Hull also wrote poetry and published a poetry newsletter entitled, "Pegasus." |
