Description
Phebe Robinson Jacobsen assembled this collection of research materials during both her independent research projects and her official duties as archivist at Maryland State Archives. The collection focuses on various topics including African American history, Native American history, and general Maryland history.

"Resource" is a "secondary" source, when Resource is a separate category it is to indicate a multi-page document
"Note" is handwritten, but may be verbatim copy of a resource

History
This collection was formerly catalogued as a State Records series (S1759) and transferred to Special Collections in April 2009. Materials in former collection MSA SC 5306 have been consolidated with other records from Phebe Jacobsen's research. The staff of the Maryland State Archives documented Phebe Robinson Jacobsen's career as an archivist and historian for an online scrapbook, MSA SC 5340.
