Description
DVD with video recording of Margaret Mentzer speaking about her work as a delegate to the 1967-1968 Constitutional Convention, recorded on October 18, 2015 by Emily Magoon as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project "hiSTORY." Mrs. Mentzer, who was elected to represent Prince George's County, District 1, discusses why the 1967 Constitution Convention was called, how it was organized, her work as a delegate, the reforms included in the document, the defeat of the proposed Constitution by Maryland voters, and how the Convention's work ultimately did impact Maryland laws. Historic photographs of the Convention illustrate this presentation.
