Description
Digital files, PDF format.

A pamphlet series on the African American History of Harford County written by Jerome L. Hersl, Jr. and a team of volunteer historians. The pamphlets were distributed in the Baltimore Sun newspaper; in churches and other civic organizations; and via email to help educate the public about family and local history throughout Harford County. Individual authors and subjects are noted in the item descriptions.

The name Campaign 42 was self-selected to describe the volunteer effort to raise awareness of the county's history: "the number refers to the uniform number Jackie Robinson wore when he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and broke Major League Baseball's color line in 1947 – is not a rigid organization, but a movement." (Baltimore Sun, June 26, 2016)
