Description
Records associated with Locust Point Community Church and Immigrant House, 1312 Beason Street at Decatur Street, Baltimore City. Built in 1887, the church was first named German United Lutheran St. Bartholeme Church with later name changes: First German Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Locust Point; First German United Evangelical Christ Church, and from 1950-2016 it was known simply as Christ United Church of Christ.

The church organized the Christ Evangelical Immigrant and Seamen's Mission in 1886 at 1308 Beason Street adjacent to the church (current building on the site erected in 1904). The Immigrant House, as it has been later known, served the community of immigrants arriving in Baltimore, especially families from Germany and Central Europe. The Immigrant House served as lodgings for longshoremen after World War I.
