(Bowie, Prince George's County: Capital-Gazette Press, Inc.)

The Bowie News began publication in 1967[?] and ceased January 30, 1980 [v. 19, no. 4]. It was published weekly as "An edition of the Prince George's County News." Title history based on October 8, 1970 [v. 10, no. 40]. It assumed the numbering of the Prince George's County News (Bel Air-Bowie, Carrollton, Seabrook edition). It was also published as the Bowie News and Prince George's County News, January 10-17 and April 25-May 16, 1979 and the Prince George's County News Other editions include the Prince George's County News (Belair-Bowie, Carrollton, Seabrook edition) (Laurel: 1966) and the Prince George's County News (Laurel edition) (Laurel: 1966). The newspaper absorbed the Prince George's County News (Belair-Bowie, Carrollton, Seabrook edition) (Laurel: 1966) and merged with the Bowie Blade (Bowie: 1979) to form the Bowie Blade-News (Bowie: 1980).
