Description
Copper printing plates on wood blocks depicting architectural subjects from the Chesapeake region in Maryland and Virginia. The plates were used to create illustrations for The Chesapeake Country by Swepson Earle (1879-1943), first published in 1923 with later revisions and editions. Consists of 135 copper plates with architectural views; 10 intaglio plates reproducing signatures and seals; and one large intaglio map plate.
