Description
McCulloh family papers, MS. 2110: papers of John McCulloh, a Philadelphia merchant, and his sons James, Andrew, and Samuel. Collection includes business correspondence between Philadelphia and Baltimore relating to commerce of the mid-Atlantic region, references to medical training of family members, and westard migration. Maurius Duvall papers, ca. 1842-1845, MS 2387: journal, describing flora, fauna, native customs, topography, geology, minerology, and meteorology of various parts of Florida, Cuba, South American, Africa, the Phillipines, and Pacific Island groups in the mid-nineteenth century. Includes information on the extinct Gaunche tribe of the Canary Islands. Duvall was a medical officer on the USS Constitution. Tench Tilghman papers, MS 2690: account and letter books, Tench Tilghman 1784-1798. Collection records the activities of Tench Tilghman & Co., specializing in imported dry goods.
