Description
Proposal For A Mace For The Senate of Maryland by Henry Powell Hopkins, III, Silversmith, Baltimore, January 10, 2020. Proposed: A ceremonial mace, made of sterling silver with a wood shaft from the Wye Oak. The proposal includes a short narrative description of the proposed sterling silver mace, the estimated cost for production. Maryland State Archives Conservator Camille DiMarco crafted a custom fabric portfolio for the presentation to the Senate of Maryland which contains a full-size illustration of what the mace would look like. This project was not adopted by the Senate.
