Description
Material of artist Thomas Sully including correspondence and an example of his work. This collection includes the May 1834 original letter from Thomas Sully to Senator Charles Mayer with regard to submitting the necessary paperwork to receive payment for the portrait. There is also an engraving, from a book, after his self-portrait of 1867.
