Photocopy, [William B. Matchett]Maryland and the Glorious Old Third in the War for the Union, Reminiciences in the Life of Her "Militant," Chaplan and Major Samuel Kramer,(Washington: T. J. Brashears, printer, 1882), (40 pages).
Reverand Samuel Karmer was an eyewitness to the Baltimore Riot on April 19, 1861 and helped to form and raise the Maryland 3rd Infantry Regiment U.S.A., serving first as its chaplan. After the Battle of Antietam, Kramer served as a Major in the Maryland 3rd.
