Description
Elementary School, Annapolis, 21 March 1989. Includes performance footage of "Maryland, My Maryland" by the Bowie State University Singers and storyteller Chief Sings Alone with the Maryland Indian Heritage Society Dancers. Mistress of Ceremonies for the event is Rudy Miller.

Dignitaries at the event included Governor William Donald Schaefer, State Comptroller Louis B. Goldstein, State Treasurer Lucille Maurer; Anne Arundel County Executive O. James Lighthizer, Mayor of Annapolis Dennis M. Callahan, State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Filling, Anne Arundel County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Larry Lorton, the Principal of Georgetown East Elementary Dr. Virginia [Radner???] and others.

[Note: This was a recording from television coverage and not of archival quality. The VHS tape has conservation issues, and only the first seven minutes of content have been recovered and digitized to date.]
