James Blair (Commissary of Virginia). Our Saviour's Divine Sermon on the Mount Vol. II, London, England, 1722.

nscription title page 'Evangelical Rigteousness explained page 239," with other stray handwritten notes throughout. Also has an S.P.C.K. bookplate. A label from a former exhibition at the Rare Book Library, Diocese of Washington reads, "A committee of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK), working from 1705 until 1729, was able to establish sixty-four libraries in the poorer parishes of England for the use of the incumbent and his successors."

Inside front cover inscribed, "E. Libris Johannes Eversfield Vol. 3 [?]" There are extensive handwritten notes in the Education chapter, also a note at the beginning of the paraphrase on St. Paul's epistles, "NB Dr. Bensons Expositions of the Rest of St. Pauls Epistles in Mr. Locks Methon in 2 Vol [?] Well approved of & a Fit Supplement to This." Inside the back cover Eversfield notes the best philosophers of "the last and present age": Locke, Boyle, Newton, Clarke, and Wollaston.
