2. Framed certificate, given to William Donald Schaefer on the fifth anniversary of the founding of the University of Maryland System to commemorate his support of public higher education and establishing the University of Maryland System, given by the University of Maryland System, signed by George V.McGowan, Chairman, UMS, Board of Regents, Donald N. Langenberg, UMS Chancellor, and Thomas E. Bellavance, Chairman, UMS President's Council, July 1, 1993.
