Description
Letter and Resolution, 4 hand-written pages. Ms. M. Priscilla Waters, Principal, Skidmore Public School, Annapolis to Mr. and Mrs. Asbury Harris, Annapolis, dated November 6, 1929. Condolence letter and in response to the death of their son, Irvin Marcellus Harris. The letter and resolution and was sent to Mr. Asbury Vachel Harris and his wife Amelia Minnie Martin-Harris. “Marcellus” as he was called was second oldest of the children of their five children and the only son. The school in was in an unincorporated community called Skidmore located at the western terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Anne Arundel County. A portion of the land for the school was donated by Timothy and Mary Baily Harris.
