Two large sections and two small pieces of the Wye Oak trunk and boughs. A smaller branch with leaves and loose leaves. These items were used in the educational exhibit "Remembrance and Renewal: The Wye Oak" located in the Archives Room at the Maryland State House on exhibit until 2008 renovations.

Description
Gavel made from limb of the Wye Oak.
The gavel was owned by Chief Judge Robert C. Murphy of the Maryland Court of Appeals.
This object was on loan from a private collection for exhibition in the Miller Senate Office Building.
Item donated to MSA transferred to MSA SC 6134-1-1. See new number for location.
