Victorian hair brooch with braided lock of hair, black enamel and gold, with gold backing, 1860s. Back of brooch has monogram with letters "AEM" engraved in center.

Gold mourning locket pendant with oval beveled glass window encasing tightly woven hair. No photograph housed inside locket. Engraved feather motifs on front and rear consistent with mid-1800s design.

Description
Pendant containing a miniature profile portrait engraving of Robert Goodloe Harper [by Charles Balthazar Julien Fevret de Saint-Mémin, c. 1800] and encased behind glass. Several locks of different colored hair are enclosed on the reverse of the portrait. Piece of paper associated with the pendant indentifies the portrait miniature as Robert Goodloe Harper.

Description
Book-shaped locket, brass or gold-plated. Twelve small [?albumen] photos housed in oval frames fit inside locket, most of unidentified male and female portaits, as well as one of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Locket housing and framed photographs form two separate components of the object.
