Document, Frederick County, Deed of Manumission and Release of Service for Charles Brightwell who enlisted in the 19th Regiment United States Color Troops (USCT), acknowledged and signed by Jesse Wright with three witnesses, 16th June 1865. Freedom from service date: 8th January 1864. Recorded June 16th 1865, Liber JWLC No. 2, Folio 654, Frederick County Land Records. (See also MSA C2916-22).
