Description
DVD, "Mr. Besley's Forest, A documentary about Maryland's first State Forester" Producer/ Director/ Writer: Cheryle Franceschi Editor: Jacquie Greff, Composer: Kraig Greff Documentary on Maryland's first State Forester, Fred W. Besley, who served for 36 years beginning in 1906. Highlights include the Big Tree Program which has been duplicated across the country and Besley's lantern slide show which he used to raise awareness about the hazards of forest fires. The film was endorsed by the Maryland Committee for Conservation History and the Carroll County Forest Conservancy District Board and premiered at the Utopia Film Festival in 2015.
