Description
All of the correspondence in this file is from E. Morris Fergusson, General Secretary for the Maryland Sunday School Association. Most of his correspondence was in the form of form letters and dealt with the yearly state conventions held in the fall. There is a series of letters which are concerned with attendence at the International Sunday School Convention in Buffalo, New York. There are also form letters concerning the yearly canvass of State Sunday Schools. There are several handwritten letters from Fergusson. In the earliest letter, Mr. Fergusson asked for the opportunity to meet Miss Handy. In another letter, the State Convention was cancelled due to the health of Marylanders and a later letter expressed Mr. Fergusson’s concern about the continued epidemic in Worcester County. He also wrote Miss Handy personally to let her know that Worcester County had earned a certificate as Honor School No. 1 for Maryland. One letter brings up the topic of Maryland law and religious education in the schools.
