The images are presented as they appear on the microfilm without
alteration. The image labels reflect the unique work order numbers
assigned by the Maryland State Archives as part of the on-going
program to preserve master security
electronic and microfilm images of newspapers and periodicals relating
to Maryland in the permanent electronic archives of the state.
They are presented here in an ebook format developed by the State
Archivist designed to provide researchers with the ability to
transcribe, annotate, and index the images on line in an effort to
enhance access and the educational value of the collection.
The
transcription and editing functions can only be used when the ebook is
accessed by an on-line browser (Firefox
is recommended) and are restricted to personal, educational,
non-commercial use. The
image labels may be used as a standard reference citation.
Note that the Jump Script at the top of the page will only work within
a reel of film and not across reels of film.
