Currently retained permanently until authority to do business is concelled or terminated. They are then destroyed. This appears to Kevin to indicate that these records are not permanent in our meaning of the word. The files that we received 12/21/1992 are registration and
qualification documents for currently active foreign corporations. As such, they need to be maintained by the Department of Assessments and Taxation for them to perform their duties. A more thorough analysis of these records seems in order to determine if the Archives should
maintain them permanently, or transfer them to Records Management for storage until such time as they can be destroyed. According to the retention schedule, the foreign corporations covered by these records registered or qualified to do business prior to 1982. 3/99: sent to HF.
