BROWNE, et al. Lessee, vs. KENNEDY. [NO NUMBER IN ORIGINAL] COURT OF APPEALS OF MARYLAND 5 H. & J. 195; 1821 Md. LEXIS 6 June Term, 1821, Decided

[This case is an example of how the Lexis search engine misses cases no matter how closely defined the terms entered may be. It cannot be found by searching the Maryland Court of Appeals Reports for 1821 on the terms "City of Baltimore" or "Baltimore City," although "City of Baltimore" is in the text of the very first opinion presented. The Lexis help desk, after being asked in conjunction with the search exercise designed for this class, admitted that their database is not properly reading dates, and that this problem is occurring both through internet and direct software access. At our instigation a problem report has been filed and we are to be notified when it has been fixed. ecp 1/26/01]
