Description
Battle Monument in Monument Square, Baltimore. Series entitled, "Baltimore Illustrated." Caption reads, "The City of Baltimore, the metropolis of the South, the entrepot of the Imperial West, remarkible for commercial activity, fine monuments, beautiful parks, and environs." The reverse states, "Battle Monument, 52 ft. h., commemorates the successful resistance to the British Army and Navy by citizen soldiers, (Old Defenders,) Sept. 12, 1814."
