[includes correspondence with Lord Fairfax re: his grant and supports the conclusion that in the 18th Century Lord Fairfax did not believe that his grant, derived from that of Lord Culpepper in 1688, encompassed the Potomac, a perception apparently reinforced by a decision of King in Council relating to determining the source of the Potomac. ecp 9/27/00]
